Steady as She Goes
Progress Made
So onwards the development cycle continued. More buildings were added, free-modeled models were phased out for custom brewed models, and more roleplay items entered the fray. The cave systems, a long
prideful location for Chris, were expanded and given unique looks based on their location.
Soon the game was not just about roleplaying as a vampire, as it was originally marketed for. No, no, it was now geared towards ANY type of roleplay. A supernatural duck? Why not, go ahead.
A blind space wizard? Sure, knock yourself out. The game was taking on a spirit of its own, and unbeknownst to Chris, it would be soon known for its ever changing roleplay servers.
One server could be focused on the activities of a cult, the next server, a zombie outbreak. The next a vampire uprising. Some could even be as simple as a supernatural school roleplay.
The roleplays got ever more diverse and varied, but with young minds roleplaying their fantasies, another issue aroused.
Rule breakers.
Usually a children' fantasy is innocent and inconsequential of itself. Cops and robbers, a wise wizard, an over-enthusiastic elementalist, all that is all in good fun. When children reach their
early teens however, their hormone flooded mind starts to make roleplay scenarios that are not meant for prying eyes. When a person's roleplay goes towards an Adult Rated Movie, that's when Chris
(And ROBLOX) starts to take issue.
People were breaking ROBLOX's ToS, and when ROBLOX has an issue, they make it the developer's issue.
Pantheon Born
This in of itself could be places more on ROBLOX's plate, as policing minds was not a thing Chris wanted to do on his free time. But this, coupled with the fact that as ROBLOX got more popular, so did the
amount of people who were exploiting to ruin the fun of everyone else. A team must be assembled.
So as a new cave was added to the game's map, so did a new group of people. Moderators. They were given power to do anything they pleased, as long as they enforced ROBLOX's ToS and took a stand
against the exploiters.
For a time, all was good. Moderators started to police the servers, and the quality of life for all was improving (With a couple of mod abuse complaints here and there to spice things up)
And thus a new age dawned as a new edition of the map was made public to all. To pair with this map update, a new name was needed for the game, as the old name felt restrictive for the goals
that Chris wanted to endorse. So with high spirits, a new name was given to the game:
Darkened Dawn.
