A Surge in Popularity

A Trickle in

Advice

For a time, the game was empty. Sure a couple of lost souls would pop in when Chris and his friends were roleplaying, but nothing ever TOO big. It was quaint, simple, and was nothing big. Some things were added like a hotel, a police station, a hospital, and a club, but nothing too exciting. And for Chris, this was fine, and all were happy.

Then a weird thing happened one day: Chris tried to join his friends, but he found out he was put in another server. The other server was full. This through Chris for a loop, as this had never happened. Sure a server got a bit crowded sometimes as other people seemed to want to use the map here and there, but never filling up a server. On top of all this, people started to message Chris asking for stuff TO BE ADDED!

Chris' complex and deep mind started to do that thing people do when they need to function as a normal human being, and started to think.

"What if I added things people like? Would more people come to my game?"

As you can tell, Chris is a few cards short of a full hand, but he had the right spirit. Thus Chris started to do something almost unheard of for himself: He started to make his own buildings.

And so he pulled all the brain cells that he had in his box of genes together and created a club. This, coupled with updating the free-modeled houses, made the game feel more unique. A treehouse was added, and a "Cave of Darkness" was tossed in there, since every game needs edge. And something shocking happened after Chris added things people asked for!

People started to visit more.

With more visits his game started to flourish. New weapons and roleplay swords were added, a fly and run tool crammed into the game, and a semi-okay (For the time) lobby system was put together. Chris' building skills improved and he started to dabble in scripting more and more, going from modifying code, to making it from scratch. From a game no one heard about, the now newly named "Vampire Roleplay" (Twilight just came out at that point and he had enough business sense to know how to ride a trend) was born! The game started to explode into popularity, as more and more people started to join, not out of base curiosity to find out if the game was good, but because many people KNEW it was good.

And onwards the clock ticked.
